Job Qualification Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
• Associate’s degree with relevant experience may be considered.
• Must have more than 60 college credits on education or a relevant field.
Experience:
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching practices.
• Ability to design and implement engaging, play-based learning activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Curriculum & Lesson Planning:
- Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans tailored to children’s developmental needs.
- Use play-based and hands-on learning approaches to foster development across cognitive, emotional, social, and physical domains.
- Incorporate literacy, numeracy, art, music, and outdoor play into a balanced curriculum.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Child Development & Observation:
- Observe, document, and assess children’s progress, identifying developmental milestones and areas for growth.
- Maintain individual portfolios for children, including photos, work samples, and progress reports.
- Guide children in their emotional and behavioral development through positive reinforcement.
- Support children with special needs by collaborating with parents, support staff, and specialists.
- Assist parents with ASQ completion and facilitate Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTCs).
Classroom Management:
- Create a structured, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Establish routines that promote cooperation, responsibility, and independence.
- Address behavioral challenges empathetically and in alignment with DreamPlay’s guidelines.
- Parent Communication & Engagement:
- Build positive relationships with parents through consistent communication and updates.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss progress, address concerns, and celebrate achievements.
- Foster an open, welcoming environment for parents and caregivers.
Health, Safety, and Well-Being:
- Follow state licensing regulations and DreamPlay’s safety protocols to ensure children’s well-being.
- Administer first aid and handle minor injuries or illnesses as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom with age-appropriate materials and equipment.
- Supervise children during all activities, indoors and outdoors.
Team Collaboration & Professional Development:
- Mentor and support assistant teachers, fostering a collaborative team dynamic.
- Participate in team meetings to improve curriculum, teaching strategies, and best practices.
- Engage in professional development opportunities, staying current with early childhood education trends.
